I was born in 1987. From a baby to childhood, I was raised in a family that loved animals and birds. My house always had birds, so naturally, affection for these beauties genetically got instilled in me. I saw my grandfather keeping pigeons, my father had been keeping budgerigars and my uncle kept ground birds. So the craze entered my heart, too.
When i grew a little older, i got my first Pigeon pair, a beautiful white one with slight grey spots on wings such an adorable being that gave a kick start, then a pair of budgerigar entered my hobby, i remember the time when i asked my father to exchange one mate from the couple because i had two males, a friend told me males in budgerigar had bluish nose and female had white to brown. I was probably 5 years old at that time. We had only one choice in feed, Bajra (millet), at that time. Very little was known about keeping, so I had to ask my dad and uncle for confirmation.
I always felt that birds should have a large cage to avoid fights, picking, and mortality. I went to the market and bought a sufficiently large cage. This was a fair one at that time. i had no access to books or the internet, so I had to rely on my experiences and which came from my elders. That was good, though we used to learn things on our own.
Oh, I forgot to tell you, I had budgerigars in wild colours, the green ones, some blues, and red-eyes (lutinos and albinos). Yes, we called them Red-eyes then.
